We are always looking for ways to broaden and enrich our pupils’ curriculum and life experiences. Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming a team of handlers and owners from Guide Dogs UK, along with their amazing dogs at various stages of training, from puppies to retirees!
Our Reception and Key Stage One pupils gained an understanding about how these incredible dogs are trained and how they support their owners in everyday life. The children learned the important rule that guide dogs shouldn’t be stroked while working, but with the owners’ permission, they got to enjoy some special cuddle time!
We received a wonderful cuddly guide dog, which we can’t wait to share with the children in our next worship assembly and give it a special name together!
