On Monday, Westgate proudly sent two teams to the U'12s Rugby festival at Portsmouth Rugby Club. The only school to field two teams; Westgate Team 1 had an impressive day, finishing with 7 wins and 1 loss against tough competition. Westgate Team 2, mostly new to competitive matches, grew in confidence and skill, ending with a stunning 4-1 victory against an undefeated team in their final match!
Tuesday was the turn of the U14s. After a development morning, the team showed determination, played in the plate competition and won. This was followed by the under 13s team on Wednesday; a morning of 13 tries and only conceding 1 in 3 games, the team won the semi-final but were beaten in a very competitive final.
Well done to everyone who took part - and thanks to the PE Team at Westgate for their commitment to rugby and coaching of the teams!
